About Your Tutor
20 years of teaching English — and counting
I'm a qualified teacher with over 20 years' experience teaching English at every level from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level. I hold a PGCE from the Institute of Education, University of London, and I've spent my career helping students not just pass exams, but develop a real understanding of and confidence in English.
I studied for my BA (Hons) in American Studies with a focus on Literature at the University of Manchester, followed by an MA in Modern Literatures in English at Birkbeck College, University of London. I also hold a CTEFLA from SOAS, University of London, which gives me specialist training in making English accessible to all learners.
As well as being an English teacher, I served as UCAS co-ordinator at Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School — meaning I've guided hundreds of students through the university application process from the inside. I know exactly what admissions tutors are looking for because I've helped students craft successful applications year after year.
My core expertise is in GCSE English Literature and Language and A-Level English Literature, with additional tutoring experience in A-Level English Language. I cover all major exam boards and work with students both online and in person across Greater Manchester.
I hold an enhanced DBS check and take safeguarding seriously.
